EDI Systems Analyst – Contract

Day rate negotiable

The role of EDI Systems Analyst sits within the Information Systems department and reports in to the Technical Integrations Manager.

The purpose of the role is to increase the volume of documents exchanged with both customers and suppliers via EDI. The job holder will be required to support technical conversations with customer / suppliers, develop specifications, support implementation and testing and to proactively maintain and provide support for end solutions.

The role is a technical role with a requirement to interact with customers, suppliers and business users to understand and advise on requirements and solutions.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Experience integrating with suppliers and customers with
  • All standard messages (Order, Order Change, Order Acknowledgement, Order Change Acknowledgement, Advanced Shipping Notification, Invoice / Credit);
  • Formats (e.g. CXML, XML, EDIFACT)
  • Transfer protocols (e.g. HTTP/S, FTP/S)
  • Experience operating with Value Added Networks (VANs), 3rd party Marketplaces
  • Supporting and Developing Integrations
  • Experience with Enterprise Service Bus / ETL technologies (e.g. Talend)
  • Linux/AIX scripting (beneficial)
  • K8 ERP DX or ERP integration (beneficial)

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Solutions analysis and development
  • Work with the members of the IT team, customers and suppliers to agree and document specifications, mappings, technical interfacing methods and protocols
  • Develop and maintain documentation to detail capabilities, standard approaches, procedures, test strategies for internal and external (customer / supplier) usage
  • Implement technical solutions agreed with IT teams and 3rd parties
  • Unit test and support / manage end user acceptance testing (e.g. creation of suitable test environment, mappings, etc.)
  • Support deployment, change and release management to promote work to live environment
  • Handover of new solutions to the Service desk and Infrastructure teams as required
  • Strong analytical skills applied to requirements gathering, solution design, diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Specification and design of interfaces and e-commerce solutions to meet business requirements
  • E-Commerce Application support including direct interaction with users and 3rd parties at all levels
  • Testing design and execution including unit and integration testing
